Quarter pallets are widely used in supermarkets, where they can be easily transported in the narrow aisles between shelves.
Sealing System has delivered, installed, and integrated an automatic system for palletizing PET bottles with individual stretch wrapping of quarter pallets. In particular, the individual stretch wrapping of quarter pallets is a newly developed, automated process.
Four quarter pallets are palletized at a time, after which each quarter pallet moves forward on the conveyor belt and is wrapped with film. Then, the four quarter pallets are assembled on a EUR pallet, and the entire pallet is finally wrapped with film.
After the filling line, the PET bottles are transferred to robot palletizing. A pattern of 6 sets of 9-packs is formed, which the robot palletizes on the quarter pallet. The quarter pallet comes from the pallet magazine, where 4 are de-stacked at a time. A sheet is placed between each layer of PET bottles, and then the quarter pallet moves to the wrapper. 4 quarter pallets are palletized on a EUR pallet, which is ultimately wrapped as a whole pallet.
